Hollywood Casino Penn National While in Grantville Pa I went to Hollywood Penn National. I go to Hollywood Casino at Charles Town all the time because it is closer for me. Penn National has better machines that I like to play than Charles Town. In accordance with the Governor's additional COVID-19 protective mitigation measures, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course will be temporarily suspending operations for a period of three weeks beginning at 11 p.m. On Friday, December 11, 2020.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course will reopen both its gambling floor and its horse racing operations this week at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The company announced the news on Monday, less than a week before Dauphin County, where the Grantville, Pa., property is located, enters the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s coronavirus reopening plan at 12:01 a.m. on June 19.
Most indoor entertainment, including casinos, can only reopen in the green phase. Hollywood will restrict capacity to 50 percent or less and most restaurants will not be open. Gone for now is the availability of 24-hour action, as well; the casino will be open from 7 a.m. - 3 a.m., daily after Friday, and deep cleaning will be done between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Additionally, fans cannot watch the races from trackside but can view the card from the third-floor indoor seating area that overlooks the oval. Finally, Top Golf will not yet open and there will be no live entertainment for now.
“While the amenities our customers have come to know and love may be somewhat limited for the time being, the ability to safely welcome back our team members and guests remains our top priority.” Daniel Ihm, the Vice President and General Manager of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, said in a news release.
'With this in mind, we have been working closely with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, state and local leaders, and public health officials to finalize comprehensive reopening protocols and new health and safety precautions.
A list of updates on Hollywood’s website reveals the following operational plan:
'CASINO
'Casino Hours: Open daily from 7 a.m. – 3 a.m.
'The casino will be closed daily from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. for deep cleaning.
'Table game seating will be limited, and slot machines will be configured to meet social distancing requirements.
'The Poker Room will remain closed.
'The Sportsbook will not be open, however the sports wagering kiosk will be available. Ticket redemptions will occur at the cage.
RACING
'Live Racing will begin on Friday, June 19. Spectators will not be permitted on the apron. Simulcast wagering and viewing are available on the 3rd floor of the casino.
'MASKS
Guests will be required to wear masks and must respond to a health screening prior to entry.
Team members and vendors will be required to wear masks and will undergo a health screening each day, including temperature checks, prior to their shift.
